Hey everyone. For the past few weeks my first start of the day struggles to turn the engine over. The rest of the starts turn over fine. At first I thought it was just the battery. But I switched the battery and the problem persists. I'm thinking it's the starter but would it make sense only to struggle at a cold start?
So I didn't check the volts from the alternator because if there was a problem with the alternator you would expect the opposite problem to happen no? Meaning when the car has been running it's not holding a charge and therefore EVERY time I went to start the car it would struggle to turn over. Also, I'm worried that if they test the starter any time other than a cold start it may not be symptomatic.
Ok so the battery is not the problem. 12.4 about when the car is off. When the car is running I get to 13.7 and with everything on inside it dips maybe to 13.5 or 13.6. Alternator?
No one mentioned the fuel pump check valve? It might take all night for the fuel rail to depressurize. But once the Jeep is up and running there may be no symptoms between stops around town.
