Possible to adjust gas tank side to side?

I am prepping for the arrival of my new tire carrier. I drilled out my frame mounting holes beside the gas tank (VERY CAREFULLY) so I can mount my frame tie ins. On the passenger side, I have plenty of clearance. On the driver's side, I cannot get the mounting nut between the gas tank and frame. The mounting bolt comes through the backside of the frame directly in line with the horizontal seem on the plastic gas tank.

I know that the tank is mounted to the skid plate. I wanted to know if it is possible to shift the gas tank toward the passenger side about 1/2 to 3/4 inch?

My last question for today, I promise

Here is a writeup showing how the ROKMEN Frame Tie Ins attach to the TJ frames.

Perhaps you can get an idea from this to use on your frame tie in. Basically two different length of bolts are used for the frame...

a longer 4 1/2" bolt for the upper hole in the frame, this bolt goes clear through to the other side of the frame.

a shorter 2 1/2" bolt for the lower hole in the frame, this bolt is inserted from he inside of the frame and the nut goes on the outside. See the writeup and photos for it to make more sense.

You shouldn't have to move the tank, I don't think it is possible anyway

Thanks. After mulling it over for a while I've decided to get a short bolt for the one hole and but the nut inside the frame rail. I can reach in with my finger and get a nut started on the lower frame hole. All the other holes are fine going all the way through with the bolts.
