Power Steering Box ??

Howdy folks, seems on the weekend I had a leak under the jeep towards the front drivers side. Wasn't sure if it was brake fluid or steering fluid. Took it to my mechanic yesterday. Today they explained that the power steering box (not the pump) was mildly leaking and to keep an eye on it, and make sure I had some power steering fluid available just in case. Now they said it wasn't bad at the moment and was quoted about 285$ CAN for the part. Now I know that my garage up's the price as they get everything from NAPA which I find is expensive in the first place. SO what I am trying to do is find a cheaper OEM part but rockauto.com doesn't have that part (most likely called something else). Could someone help me out on the proper part name/number as I have ordered from rockauto before and the prices where great but shipping to my corner is normally excessive but unfortunately normal. The make of my jeep is a 2001 4.0L sport. Any help would be awesome, thanks everyone :)

If you do a search I have seen a lot of people put the steering box from a durango in when they have to replace it. I believe its an upgraded beefier box that bolts right in and is cheeper. I've seen threads about it, and they have the part # listed on there. Not sure about the jeep oem one though

I read that about the durango power steering box. I only run on 31's and I'm not much of an off-roader nor a mall crawler either hehehe so I'm not sure if a beefier one would be helpful in my case(tho I am open to suggestions). What I need is the proper name for it. My mechanic only said it was power steering box but when I do a search on rockauto.com it doesnt come up but everything else does... Dont wanna order the wrong part as shipping cost about 40$ and no refunds on the shipping part :/

It's been a while since I've looked, but pretty much everything that cheaper than $285 will be a reman if I had to guess. At least anything worthwhile. I bought a reman from PSC for my old TJ for around that price, I think just a bit less, and it was a very nice box.

Any links you can provide would be great, my only issue is I am a computer geek, not mechanically inclined. I dont trust myself and would only end up paying my mechanic double if not more to fix what I messed up even with a manual in hand if even tried :(
