power steering fluid question

Does anyone recommend changing the power steering fluid with any regularity? If so, what is the best way to replace the fluid? Thanks.

You can loosen the p/s return line, but its messy. I use a suction gun to evacuate the pump and type4 fluid to top it back off. (its part of my yearly service)
