Powerful Vibrations

Hey Guys you have saved me so many times, I can't even start to thank those who have helped. My new issue is on my 97 tj I just put in a new S&S 2.5 L engine in, and about 1000 mi in I have a huge vibration that starts at around 25 continues to 35 then dissipates then picks back up around 60. The vibrations is very strong through the sterring wheel. I thought it was the tires out of balance but when its vibrating the worse u can push the clutch in and it dissapears. The jeep has a puck lift on 33's and has been that way since Ive owned it the last 6 years, never had any problems. The clutch engages and disengages fine. Any help would be grately appreciated.

Any other mods done when you changed the engine? I would start with your engine and transmission mounts. then go over every bolt in the suspension and make sure its tight.

Nah No other mods, Its pretty stock, I checked the motor mounts forgot to put that in here, that was my second guess. It's really odd just drove it a minute ago.

if you push the clutch, it points to a driveline issue.. are your DS at a good angle?

Drive shafts angles are awsome this jeep only has a puck lift on it. I got under there today, pulled the belly pan and found the tranny mount in several pieces. Got my hopes up that that was the source of all my problems, not some much. Bolted it together vibrations are still there, a little less in four hi. Went to the dealership, mechanic said it might be the clutch and that the flywheel might be burnt. Any of that sound possible??????

T-case in neutral - run it up through the gears - if it still does it - it's clutch or engine, possibly trans.

If not, suspect suspension or drive line.
