Lightbulb problen with my dashboard,Help Please

I have a jeep wrangler tj 1999, and on my dash board my engine temp will only go up 1/4 (before it wouldn't even go up at all, like if the car was always cold) Also, when I accelerate the oil reader goes up and when I break and slow down it goes back to the middle. Has anyone had this issue before, or can tell me what causes this and how can I fix it please.. Before hand I'll like to thank you for your time and responses..

I can't help with the temp, but the oil pressure should go up and down with the RPMs.

Make sure your connections on your dash are clean. Remove your dash and clean all connections on your panel

Well...

It sounds like you have a bad thermostat and the oil pressure is normal. Should sit at 15-20lbs at idle and 40-60lbs@(roughly) 2k rpms.
Most vehicles have a fake oil pressure gauge, they usually stay in one spot at all times. Newer style thermostats are made to stick (fail) in the open position so that your engine doesn't overheat. Do you still have hot air coming from your vents?

G8RDave: Alright Thanks a lot..

itscakes: Great, I'll make sure I do that. is there any specific way on taking the dashboard out and making sure I don't mess with anything I'm supposed to?

Zdrisko: Hmm to be honest haven't checked (Since I always tend to have my doors off "Specially now that it's summer") but I can check, I do get a lot of hot air from the lower part of the driver's side, by where the pedal and the break are.. But that's normal, right?

Yes, Jeep tubs aren't famous for their insulation. But beforw spending any big money, I would definitely change the thermostat.

Alright, sounds good. I will definitely change the thermostat and take it from there.. I will also check on the dashboard connections cause at one point when I used to hit bumps hard, everything on my dashboard would go down.. and if i tapped it a bit it would go back to normal(except for the temp)

but I'll do that and keep you posted. I hope that's it
