Question about coolant

So I made a thread few weeks ago about a slow drip I have in jeep near front. I tasted and it taste like coolant. My radiator is not leaking (tried to top off several times and already full).
My check engine light has been on last couple weeks too. This morning I was putting windshield washer fluid and noticed my Engine Coolant Onmy was empty. Two questions: 1) what is probable place to loo for leak? 2) it says special coolant required. Will the regular stuff from Adavanced or Autozone work and if not what do I need?
Thanks.

The drip I see is right behind belt but not sure if originating from there.
Engine is not running hot and I drive 70+ miles a day 5x a week

Will check that area.

I know odds are its water pump but don't want to just replace with being sure since that's probably the most expensive option to start with.

To be sure, you really need to remove the fan and fan pulley. Then use a radiator pressure tester to pump the pressure up to 20 psi or so.

Ok new issue: I filled the engine coolant up day I created this thread. Today once home from work heard a boiling sound. Popped hood and engine coolant container 3/4 empty and boiling hard. The slow steady drip from bottom area (still unknown exact spot) now multiple drips a second.
After few minutes drips almost disappears to one every 10 seconds or so and boiling stopped.
Engine still not running hot.
Any ideas????

Just parked again. Can literally hear it boiling/bubbling from inside my jeep. It's loud. And causing drip to almost stream. But engine temp still 210. Noise is unsettling.

The only way The coolant well boil is if The system is no longer sealed & under pressure, ie. A leak. You need too do like previously posted & pressurize The system to find The leak.

I'm off tomorrow. Will have system pressure test. I should be safe driving between now and then? Tomorrow is first day off since last Sat.
It's an uncomfortable sound ha.

I did a little search on Google. Head gasket would be bad, right?
Best case scenario is water pump? Bc gotta have a leak. But the bubbling didn't start until I filled the engine coolant reservoir Sat afternoon.

Bubbling makes me think head gasket, pushing air into the system, which is bubbling out your overflow.

If love something that simple. Won't fix leak but I'm more ok with leak right now than that noise.
