Question about SYE and speed sensor

I am considering biting on this SYE kit:
Mega Short Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit W/ Speed Sensor

However my buddy told me this:
Just a word of caution about that SYE kit, Notice is has a tone ring and electronic speed sensor, while your stock t-case has a traditional speedo gear. Since this kit does not use a speedo gear, you will not be able to correct your speedometer reading just by changing the gear. Instead you will have to integrate some kind of electronic pulse rate or signal modifier

Is this easy to do, can a tire shop or someone else do this for me pretty simply?

Am I better off finding an SYE kit that uses the traditional speedo gear?

Thanks!
