Question about the cluster lights...

Anyone know what all the light the the left of the "check engine" light comes on for? The manual said emissions something.. So would it be for like o2's and cat? I broke something on my exhaust and have been running it open right after the cat where the last o2 is so i think that may be all it is.

Thanks

This one... And I have a full exhaust back on and it's still coming on occasionally.

That is your check engine light. (next to the "Check Gauges" light)

If you go to an Advance Auto Parts (or some of the other chains) and ask they can plug in a diagnostic tool and tell you what the code is. My guess based on your exhaust issue is an O2 sensor problem. Is the back sensor (just after the cat) still plugged in? Are wires cut or disconnected?

Whoops. Now I feel dumb. I could swear the manual said it was something about emissions. Oh well. I'll get it scanned. It doesn't show anything when I did the self diagnostic on it so must not be anything too important.

Don't feel dumb - I almost asked how in the world you only had 209 miles on a 2000 TJ - and then I realized that was the trip reading (which I never use and forgot was there, BTW)!

You can actually avoid having to go get it scanned. Just put your key in and turn it to the on position, then off, then on, then off, then on for a third time, and your error codes will come up on the digital odometer. Write them down, then go here and see what it means. If it needs to be fixed, fix it. If not, either have the autoparts store reset it for you, or disconnect your negative battery cable for about 15 minutes. I've heard that works the same as resetting everything. However, if you don't fix whatever is causing the light to come in, it'll probably just come on again. Hope this helps.

That's what I meant when I said I did the self diagnostic already. It didn't show me anything at the time. I just had it checked anyway and it was that o2. I got it cleared and we'll see if it comes back on again..

Thanks for everyones input.
