Quick question

This may be a cheesy question, but what doesn "TJ" stand for? I'm a new jeep owner. Pardon my ignorance...

Thanks!

Nothing really just Jeeps way to ID it, but it could stand for Tough Jeep, Trendy Jeep, etc.

Hey,

Thanks for the response. I've also seen YJ and CJ. Any idea what those mean?

i think cj started as civilian jeep. but after that, i don't think there were any meanings to the names.

Talking

I think YJ means...Yes I'm really a Jeep even though I have square headlights.

I guess I better get rid of my YJ so I can be just like you since there is no way any Jeep can compare to a TJ.

YJ might mean, "Yes, I really have your girlfriend in my Jeep".

Just kidding, you know. Don't tell my wife I said that.

oh. Well, I guess it's not as funny then. I've always liked the friendly rivalry that Jeepers have. As long as it doesn't have a soccer ball sticker on the back of it, then it's a great Jeep.

Myself I have always like the non-round head lights. And for the record not, repeat not a fan of the soccer ball sticker.

That reminds me, I saw on jeep.com that the commander isn't available until the fall. I happen to have passed one in town yesterday. I did a doubletake. It looked just like a cherokee to me except the headlights. It didn't have the soccer ball sticker in the window yet, but that may have been on the way to buy the sticker when I passed them.

Amerijeep, I always say if you can't laugh at yourself...who can you laugh at. I though the TJ guys might see some humor in that. I would never trade my square lighted Jeep for a TJ. Nothing against you TJ guys, I just like leaf springs.

yeah, I think we are slightly outnumbered by the TJ guys on here. I like a TJ personally, but I also like giraffes, and I sure wouldn't want one.

I'm fond of the ole YJ.

Man! I think I've seen that before. Looks rather painful.

Actually that crook in it's neck resembles my roll bar a little.
