Rattling/knocking noise

I have a 97 2.5l tj with 147K miles on it and recently it's been giving me a weird rattling noise from the front end. Not exactly sure where it's coming from. I changed all u-joints thinking it was those but nothing. My next guess is a bearing? The noise happens most often when in first gear or low speed. But it also happens when on the high way. I also have horrible death wobble! Can the ball joints be suspect to this? The rattling/knocking noise is most felt on the driver side floor board...

I changed the transmission mount and the knocking went away. After a few days it came back.

If you investigate and wiggle it around before you buy the parts you can determine whether or not this is in fact your issue. It will make the noise you are hearing without the muffle affect if its the issue.

I ordered mine from a local dealer for about $23, and had it the next day. I see them online for $13 but there might be shipping too, I didn't look. Anyhow, the new design has a spring reinforced boot, a cup, and a new set of course thread screws for mounting the torque rod at the body bracket. It was exactly where my noise was coming from, and my odd rattle has been eliminated.
