Rattling Noise When Decelerating

When I'm driving 30mph and above and I decelerate a weird rattling noise comes from what sounds like underneath my jeep. It almost sounds as if some part of my exhaust system is rattling around. I went under and pounded on the exhaust everywhere, all the way from the manifold to the tail pipe. Not a squeak. What couldn't be??? Thanks guys!

Check the heat shield. Sounds like a mouse in a tin pan?

Very possible that you have a loose or broken baffle in the muffler, been there done that.

I would bet "honeycomb" in your catalytic converter could be broken up and rattling around. Or a heat shied could be loose.
