Rear Differential Plug

the seal plug to my rear differential is beginning to leak fluid. any recommendations for my next actions? im thinkin to either a. replace the plug or b. clean it out put it back in and see what happpens next. but if i go with option b, anyone know what i could put on the plug to stop the fluid from leaking?

take the plug out and clean the area where the plug would sit on the cover and put a bead of black rtv on the lip of the plug push it in and let it set and you should be good thats what ive always done

it might be too full. pull the plug, and don't put it back in till the fluid stops running.

this is a mistake tons of people make, they think more fluid is better, so they shove fluid in, and cap it as soon as they can. this will lead to leaky axle, and pinion seals.

if thats not it, it can't be very expensive to get a new one.
