Rear driver side grinding

Hello jeepers.

I was driving home tonight and noticed like squeel or a grind kind of noise coming from my driver side rear tire... When I push on brakes it goes away. And when I turn left it does too but straight and turning right are the problems..

Any suggestions? Thanks

First... have you been wheeling lately... check to see if any debris caught between the brakes, small pebbles, etc....

Hmmm sounds like it could be your brakes or the rear axle bearings.

Jack up the rear and rotate tire to see if it sounds like the brakes or if need new pads.
If needed remove tire and rotate to get better idea as well. If it's the bearing you should be able to tell if its grinding or loose.

Chris

Today I took the rotor off of the rear brake and I find this hiding up there...

Show me where it goes?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Pick up a set of shoes while you are at it. That rear shoe looks a little thin on top.

Penny wise and dollar foolish...shoes are cheap.... buying new drums is much more expensive. Besides, you already have it apart.
