rear end problem

I have a 05 x wrangler, I think the ring and pinion is gone. the drive shaft is wanting to spin freely. Does this sound like it is the problem. I am not sure what else is in the hogs head that would cause that. If it is the problem what kind of options do I have to fix it. I have 34's and a six speed, should I get a different gear ratio when I fix it. As always any help is appreciated.

34's are cutting it close with the strength of the factory rear end. you should look into a new rear end or a super 35 kit. and regearing would be a good idea with a set of tires that big.

Could be the spider gears as well. What happened? Did it let go while wheeling? Did you drive it home? Could it be an axle shaft?

If you have to ask what it is or what it does, you don't need it, and you will need help to install it!
