Rear Main Seal Replacement

Hi everyone,

I need to replace the rear main seal on my girlfriends TJ. It's an I4, auto.

I've looked around a ton, but can't find any instruction that is specific to this engine let alone with an auto. Is there a DIY for this? If not, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

On the 4 cylinder the transmission and flex plate must be removed. The rear main seal is one piece that is installed from the rear of the engine. You can access an online factory service manual here Jeep Information Center, Jeep Parts Catalog, Jeep Repair Manual & More or do
a search for a write up.

Here, I found one for you http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/2-5-rear-main-seal-replacement-683830/
This is for the 5 speed, but the basics are the same. Check the manual for the differences.
