I need to replace the steering gear on my 97 TJ Sport. Although I only have 31" tires and a 2" budget now, I hope to have 33" or 35" itres and 3" or 4" lift soon. So I figure this is a good time to do a Durango steering mod now and not have to do it later after just replacing a stock gear box now.
I have read a lot of threads on the mod and have read to stay away from Cardone remanned parts, but they seem to be the most expensive and most available and priced right at $200.00.
I have found the least expensive at $139.00 on line from Detroit Axle with free shipping, but have never heard of them. I have also found others for around $200.00 or more from all different remanufacturers.
Then there are the junk yard and part outs for only $60.00
So, my question is Cardone, Detroit axle, junk yard and part outs? What do you think?
Thanks for your input!!!!

Oh, and I have the beer for who ever wants to help come put the part on, and since your helping, we might as well go ahead and install my HD tie rods, drag link, u-joints, hubs and ball joints!!! Hahahahaha!!!!
