Removing Center Console to Fix Shifting Problems

Asking this just makes me feel stupid, but can someone tell me how to remove the center console from my Jeep?? It's a 5 speed 03 sahara with a "sub" in the center console. I need to remove it so I can find out what's keeping the shifter from going into gears properly. I have had several recommendations on what to check but I have to figure out how to get the console out to check them. I took the 2 screws in the storage space out, and the bolt under the double cupholder, but it still feels like something else is holding it down and I don't wanna break anything. Thanks!!

There are a couple screws at the rear on the bottom-sides on mine, plus I believe two more on the bottom-sides closer to the front. But yours has a subwoofer and mine doesn't so maybe yours is a little different.

However, you can pull the shifter boot from around the plate it secures to without removing the console and see down into the shifter area to see where it is impacting.

Yeah I looked for any screws on the outside and couldn't find anything, It feels like it is held on the inside by the shifter by something, but I don't know what. the majority of the front part is loose and it will turn some side to side, but not pull up. Thanks anyway!!

U need to remove the shifter boot and there is a screw that is right next to the shift on the passenger side that bolts into a rail that comes up from the tub. I think its a 10 mm

jherrin215, no need to feel stupid, it was a question I needed to ask when I get time to work on my jeep.
Here's another question, Jerry and Upinar, how do you get the boot loose?

The subs not much, I wouldn't waste the space to have it if it didn't come in the jeep when I bought it. How do you take the shifter boot off?? I figured that was how to get to the other bolt but I didn't just want to rip it off. If I could figure out how to get it off without tearing it up then I would have it whipped!! Thanks!!

it clips in. pull in the seam of the boot at the dash end of the boot and the it should pop out. Its actually a plastic frame that holds the rubber boot. That frame clips in. It clips in at the dash end and console end. Just pull in that plastic frame so that clips let go from the console and it should pop right off.
