Removing spray paint from Jeep

Hello all, I just purchased my first new (old) Jeep YJ Wrangler. Unfortunatley, the previous owner decided he didn't like the white color and spray painted the entire body with green paint from rattle cans. I just washed it for the first time and some of the paint is starting to come off. I would like to restore it back to the original white paint, any ideas on how to get the spray paint off? He didn't sand or rough up the original paint, and from what I can tell it still as the clear coat on it. Any help you can provide is much appreciated.

Jim

First off I'd try a high pressure hose, or pressure washer.. take it to a good car wash and see if you can get some of it to flake off...

paint thinner will remove spray paint without damaging the clear coat (depending on the integrity of the clear) underneath. If you are sure there is clear there, you shouldn't have a problem, but make sure to wax it after the thinner to prevent cracking.

or you can try wet sanding with some 1000 grit to get to the white underneath and follow with the pressure washer like said above.
