Removing the rear plate mount

Anybody removed that plastic thing? Run into any issues, regret it, love it? Any pics?

I just put mine back on. I had my plate mounted on the spare. Hated the way it looked. My rear bumper sits under the plate mount so there's no way it'll get hit if I'm careful.

I've seen people remove the plastic frame thing and bend the plate around the edge of the tub..

So this doesn't happen:

The stock license plate holder is surprisingly tough though there was a considerable amount of weight on that piece of plastic.

I removed it just to spray it down with krylon cause it was faded like my fenders. Didnt think of it getting caught on anything though. Hmm...
