Repairing bottom - floor - body supports - undercoating
Few days ago i pull all carpets of my 97 tj and I find hollows all around the base of the roll bar.
Yesterday I started to repair and after checking the bottom a saw some places with rust. So I decided to we will put a liner coat on the bottom and on the top of the floor.
After chipping, cuting , welding and cleaning I will put product named Gravitex and for internal panels and corners the rust fighter from 3M.
The bigest problem I find is to pulling the bolts of body supports they was hidden inside the body.
Man, you've got some SERIOUS A$$ rust problems. After everything is repaired I'd paint and undercoat everything after ALL the rust is removed or neutralized. You don't want to trap any rust under the paint or undercoat.
???.... hmm i think its mexican for (a "tico" here)????? beats me man! but for the job not bad man, what kind or welder are you using? the welds kind of look like the metal wast clean enough, or maybe a little low on argon??? thats just a guss??? im no pro! lol.... but its getting there!
Sorry buddy but it's Spanish not "Mexican" there is no Mexican language only Spanish in many flavors. Gotta love ignorance!!And the person who it was directed to will know what it means....
Yup, I've seen a lot of ignorance on this forum concerning spelling, grammer, the use of punctuation, etc. But to call someone ignorant or a moron because they don't know a foreign word in what is (supposed to be) an ENGLISH speaking country is beyond ignorance.
And the genius parade continues the ignorance is in the fact that people think that there is a Mexican language not understanding that it is all Spanish. But this is probably lost on you too. I will shut up now.
lol... wow, some peoples kids! hahahaa... well anyways on the welds make sure the metal is clean, and lay it in thick! It’s not going to be for show, so you will be ok. Also the metal that you’re using for the fill in panels, make sure you get it close to being the same thickness. Then you wont have to toy with the heat so much! And one you have it all in, I like to use a zinc enriched primer! It helps a lot! After a coat or two of that go and under coat it! I like to use the dupli color truck bed liner. I use the spay in version because it works a lot better, that stuff is amazing! But I don’t know what im talking about because im a moron! lol... so don’t listen to me! i know you wanted a Mexican class and not advise on your project!
Sorry I was out for 3 days and I didn´t have internet, tomorrow will continue this small project.
Hello Davil Doc ( si correcto un tico en este exelente forum; thanks for the spanish).
Translate: ( yes correct a tico ´tico´means = Costarican in this exelente forum)
Hi 06 Challenger thanks for the advice, I am still chiping, cuting and welding, fortunatelly i could get the same tickness of steel that jeep made with.
What is the name and brand of this product you mention?
Hopefully I will finish tomorrow, the welding after that Ithink I will take half day more to get smooth welded parts ( for welding I use a mig with c02+argon, and it´s hard to grind-off the rough parts of the welding).
