Replacing Battery

If I replace the battery in my jeep (99 TJ, 4.0, 5 spd) how do I keep from losing the settings in my stereo, and does this also mean that my PCM resets as well? Is there a way to swap out batteries without affecting the current settings, or am I over thinking this?

You can try hooking up a battery from a car like you were going to jump start it and remove the cables from your battery carefully and once the new battery is in re-install the cables with the jumpers on and then remove the jumper cables.

I never bother and and just reset everything.

yes - R&R the battery and reset the stereo. Don't worry about the PCM.

If you are getting a new battery, buy one from a store that installs them for free. Most major parts and battery stores do this as a courtesy. Look at the parts stores that are close to you websites. Most have sales listed . Then go to the store and buy it and have the store install.

Thanks to all. Sears P4 Platinum it is. Now how to find the best deal out there and then decide whether or not to have them install it. That would be the slickest route to take.

They're a bit pricy but they're awesome...zero regrets picking mine up. Has 4 year free replacement and is just a beast. I'll run my winch with it no problems.

cost me about 245

as for install...it takes like 10 minutes to install a battery lol...just buy it and put it in
