reverse issue

hey yall, i got a 04 tj, 4" teraflex on 35's. i have adjusted my t-case linkage so i could put it in 4L, cause that was an issue all in itself, anyways, ever since iv had my jeep, reverse is a bitch to get into, its not like it wont go in, but it doesn't go all the way in, sometimes its fine, but sometimes it'll start moving backwards then BAM! it'll pop back into neutral and grind. any ideas?

Just checking, Do you run a t-case drop with the 4'' tera?

Trying to narrow down what you have so to help identify the issue you are having.

im not possitive, it had the lift when i bought it. like i said though, when i started goin for wheelin with it, i couldn't get 4L to fully engage it would slip out, i posted a post on WF, tried the linkage adjustment, and 4L works great now no issues. the reverse has always done this too but im just gettin curious about it now. i dunno much about a t-case drop, i can tell u that the skid plate has these rubber lookin spacer things b/w it and the frame, ill try and post some pics

A t-case drop consist of spacers to lower the t-case/transmission cross member "skid" down to correct driveline angles.

As in this pic.....

There are different types/kinds of t-case drops so they may appear different than in the pic I posted. Some are a solid square bar.

yes he has a tcase drop kit which puts the shifter pointing back which will cause it to hit the center console. No problems, i've been there and here is my write up.

Give this a shot dude, if it works, look for another boot!!!

i got mine from pep boys however it was a bit small. I would recommend you buy leather and sow it up. The pepboys might have a bigger sized boots by you so give it a shot.

So wait you say the boot is falling down so its getting pressed between the plastic and the shifter? you can allways add a zip tie or something that will act as a stop and keep the top of the boot up.
