Reverse Lights OUT

My reverse lights just went out. All other lights work, dash, turn signals, hi/lo, fog, and aux hella 500's.

And another problem... 4wd engages in both high and low, but that particular light on the dash does not come on.

Haven't had a chance to check any fuses. Any Ideas?

Check your neutral safety switch.

I don't know about yours, but mine doesn't kick on any lights that say 4wd, 4hi, 4lo, etc...all I get is a light in the top right that says "part time"

No part time for me. It's an 04 tj sport. straight 6 5 speed. I think I just found the neutral safety switch behind the clutch

I just bought a 01 not too long ago and my reverse lights do not work either.

I will check for the neutral switch as well. Also, my 4x4 lighting only shows part time when I am in 4 hi or 4 lo. Is there another light in there?

first try to replace bulbs, they're rather easily dealt with and if the bulb's burned in the dash cluster, it's still easy to replace...just not as easy. LED dash lights may be a good option, they're pretty nice to have and easy on the eyes.

I also had that happen and it was my neutral safety switch but unfortunately for me the lever on the transmission that that switch works with also had broke so replacing the switch didn't do any good until that lever was fixed first and that required a trip to the transmission shop

You can check your fuse. Its number 7 behind the glove box. I keep blowing my reverse lights fuse after I tried to install some auxiliary reverse lights for more viability.

On my daughters '03 it was the reverse light switch in the transmission. Quick, cheap and easy fix. Been working for better than 6 mo. Now it has started blowing the fuse.

I have a 2000 Wrangler and I couldn't wrench or socket to work for removing switch. Been awhile since I last looked but there seemed to be linkage in the way. Any tips on that?
