So I've been going back and forth between the three for about 6 months now and still can't decide between the rock krawler x factor 5" stretch, the clayton 5" stretch, and the clayton 7" stretch. All three of them would be the 3 link front. I've done a lot of reading on the forums but all of the threads I've read are over 5 years old and only compare clayton's radius arm kit against the non-stretched rk kit. Has anyone had any experience with the RK joints? I've heard they actually fall apart fairly quickly whereas clayton uses johnny joints. Also the 7" stretch is quite a bit more work to install as well as quite a bit more expensive. Do yall think the double triangulation and extra 2 inches are worth the time and money? I jeep is my daily driver but I also wheel the living piss out of it so I want something that's going to hold up and also perform well. Thanks
I can attest to my RockKrawler 5.5" long arm kit that I installed in 2006 it has been outstanding. Furthermore, I've been talking (ironically) this past week with Tom Yash at RK tech department and he's been nothing but helpful. He's given me every part number and the exact method I need for my rebuild for all bushings, as I now have put around 90k miles on them.
It's been maintenance free. And the articulation will make your eyes pop.
It's been a rugged, great lift for me. And I did the install myself with no help over the period of 3-4 days or so, just working slowly and solo. I did the weld-in option.
The 3-link in the front is easy to locate and install since the directions were very precise.
The 4-link in the rear (at the time) called for the rear track bar to be removed completely, which I did.
I've got no complaints.
