rough running engine

I posted here last fall about my '98 wrangler w/manual trans.dying while driving. Starts fine runs well for sometimes an hour at a time, upon restart it starts dying like fuel starved, slip the clutch and feather the throttle to keep it moving and in a few minutes it takes off like nothing happened. Mechanic says fuel pressure does not drop, no computer codes come up, all wiring (plugs/wires/ distb)all fine -he is stumped

Has anyone had this happen to them?
