rpm problem

my tj has been losing max rpm..it is now only abble to hit bout 3750... any ideas what could be wrong?

Is the rev limiter kicking in at that low of an RPM? We need more background info to help you out.

ignition system, intake system, exhaust system

if nothings obviously wrong and its a high mileage jeep it may have clogged cats or something.

When that happened on my Saturn, it's because the plugs were worn and the gap was huge. A basic tuneup fixed it.

it went fromredline to 4500 max now 3750, but only decent power to 3500, i found the distributor to be bad, so ill fix that snd change pugs and hope it takes care of it
