RUBICON locker lights blinking

I bought a 2004 rubicon I cant remember if I have ever seen the lights not blink. I know when you engage them that it should only take a few seconds and then turn solid. I have pulled forward and reversed a little to see if they would engage and still blinking. How would I know other than the light? Also the guy I bought it from said he put some sort of bypass in so that the rear locker could be locked while in 4 hi? would that be the cause of the lights not working?

Im sure thats true. I havent done the bypass mod, but mod in 4hi when you engage lockers with switch will blink dash locker lights. Now thats what i've read thru from this forum over the last 2-3 yrs.

Check to see if your wires to the sensors on the diff's are in good condition
Check to make sure your Compressors are working.
check your air lines for leaks.

If the lights blinking then they are not engaging they should be solid. if they are locked you would have a lot less turning radius. I tried the bypass on my original Rubicon switch and it fried the switch so i put arb locker switches in and had no problems

The wires look good, what is the best way to check the compressors? So far I can see any airline issues.

Ok so it looks like the power wire for the locker switch was cut then spliced into the power of the lighter outlet. Im not sure if that actually works but that's what has been done.

Well I know for sure the lockers are locking even though the lights are blinking. I took the jeep out and put it in 4 lo engaged the rear did a turn I could hear the tire cherp then I engaged the front and tried turning the wheel I could tell it was engaged also pretty much because it didn't turn. So this splice job I think is whats causing the blinking. May confirm what rubicon06va said. It would be nice to know though when they are actually engaged or not.
