Rubicon Lockers

I heard a fellow Jeeper claim today that he performed a mod to his Rubicon that allowed the lockers to be used in 4H. Anyone know of/heard about this modification? Just wondering if this guy was full of it or if he really was serious...Thanks!

He's not full of it. Did it about a year and a half ago...no problems.A fairly simple operation. I can't remember which jeep mag I got the instructions from though. But, it is possible and fairly easy...i'm sure someone here will find a link for you..Good Luck

It's one of the most common and easiest mods for the Rubi.

There's procedures for it all over the Rubicon Owners Forum.

I'm curious where lockers are useful in 4-Hi?

The only "downfall" of the Rubicon is the lockers are limited to 4 low, making wheel spin a little difficult if you are truly sunk in some deep mud/sand/snow. I found this article, may help to explain.

here is a link I saved a while ago it shows how to do the lockers in 4hi and also shows how to wire the lockers to be switched independent.
