rythmic squeek only when cold

I have a '03 tj with 46,000 on it, this winter when it got cold out and sits over night or a few hours, it will squeek when i take off in it, but only dose it for about 300 yards then quits. It has a rythmic noise and if i drag the brakes it dosent make a differance. I haven't looked at it to close yet, but my only idea is a u-joint or wheel bearing? Any ideas or help. thanks.

"""""I haven't looked at it to close yet"""""

Don't ya think that would be your first step?

Before making people hundreds or thousands of miles away try to hear it.

It's no wonder the country is falling apart - stupidity abounds!

Maybe he is one of those people that has a hard time lying under the Jeep to listen for squeaks while driving it....

How fast is the squeek? Is it as fast as the tires are turning or 3-4 times faster? That should give you a good idea if it's a wheel joint or a driveshaft. My front driveshaft does exactly the same thing. I just haven't gotten around to greasing it yet since I don't daily drive the Jeep much.
That's what she said.

After experiencing it a lot when I lived where it got cold (-25F), I found that rubber bushings on metal do it when their not lubed well. I use white grease and that takes care of it.

Ya I had a hard time holding on to the frame and giving it gas. I think this forum is for advice not smart ass comets. It sounds like its about the same speed as the tires.
