Seat Belt Help

i unbolted the bottom portion my seat belt from the roll bar this weekend so that i could bed line the tub. i left all 4 of them dangling, not realizing that that would cause problems. yesterday when i went to reinstall them all four were locked up. the seat belts will not unroll from the housing. they will retract but not extend. wtf did i do, and htf do i fix this? is there a way to do this w/o messing up the seat belt, or do i have to get new seat belts? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the weight mechinism is locked in them. Did you try shaking them a bit? Holding them in the opposite direction in which they were?. There's like a little fishing weight in there, when the weight is moved forward it locks the belt, so the person can not go any farther then where there at, at that moment=crashes into dashboard.

-yup - change the angle you're holding the housing of the retractor while pulling on the belt. I had the same problem and it took me a minute to figure it out.
