seat belt questions

ok, so I bought my jeep without the buckles for the rear seats. I had the belts but no buckles. one belt froze up and died, so i have the other, but my front passenger side is beginning to not retract. could I take the belt from the back and it fit the front buckle? and whats a reasonable brand seatbelt (or junkyard find) to replace the rear belts and buckles?

side note, none of my local junkyards have wranglers, or even later model xj's. would a Dakota's seatbelts work?

If your worried enough to ask just go to the dealer and get a new one. A junkyard seat belt is as good as no seat belt IMO.

the dealer wants 200 for the pair. I don't do business with dealers. why would a junkyard belt be no good? that doesn't make any sense. just like saying "I bought a used car, so i replaced the seat belts because they were used"

If the TJ was wrecked the seat belts may be stressed and not safe. I would never buy seatbelts from a wreck.

a wreck and a junked jeep are 2 different things, many of the cars that are in the junkyards here are salvages. blown engine, broken diff, PO didn't have money, time, patients to fix. I wouldn't pull seatbelts from a wreck but a salvage, sure no problem.
