Sensor problems

What kind of problems would you expect with a bad crankshaft position sensor or a camshaft position sensor.

I drive down the road and my jeep suddenly cuts off. After a few long attempts of starting it finally cranks and I might get 5-10 minutes more then same problem.
It also is harder to start than normal when it's hot outside or the engine is warm.

Should I replace one, both, or something totally different?

Thanks

I was getting codes for those two sensors a couple months ago, replaced them both. The problem ended up being the wire loom had sagged down on the ac compressor and they shotred out, wasnt getting the 5V input to the cpu, The crank shaft sensor is about $20 the cam is about $40, you can pull them and ohm them out to see if they are good, but that doesnt help much if its an intermitant problem. At least they are easy to reach.

Had two experiences with the Crank sensor. On my 99 it went bad when I went to start it one day and never started again till I replaced it. Second experience was with a 2001 DeVille. It behaved the exact way yours is. It would run fine, die, start right up, be hard to start, etc and a new CPS fixed it.

I figure I'll replace both of em. Any issues aftermarket or go OEM. Pulled codes also got a number 5 cylinder misfire ( I think I was number 5 slight memory loss since 1600) and a few others.
