Service help!

Hey guys, I have a 2004 rubicon with an automatic. I want to service the transmission and differentials this weekend, my question is how do I service the diif's. is there anything special I need to do? The differentials have never been serviced before. What's the best way to seal it, replacement gasket? Or the liquid gasket stuff? Type of fluid, any other additives? Any help will be great, thanks.

On the differentials you just remove the cover to drain, then clean everything good with something like brake cleaner. Most people just use RTV sealer since the reusable gaskets are pretty expensive and only worth it if you get into water often and have to change the fluid a lot. If you have a limited slip rear, you will need to get an oil with the friction modifier added or buy a small bottle and add it separately. I don't remember what brand I used, I just searched here and used what was recommended the most.
I don't have an automatic trans so can't help you on that one!

Jack it up and spin one tire, if the other one goes the same direction then it's a yes you do.
