Look up death wobble. There are tons of threads here and on other forums. I have never experienced it, but I have read up on it a little bit. It usually has to do with steering and front end components that need to be replaced and/or tightened.

Anytime you read a post and see DW that stands for death wobble. Is your Jeep lifted?

That could be a driveshaft u joint. Don't sound like Death Wobble at all to me. Defiantly check the bolts that hold the retainers before you drive again. Once it starts vibrating bad the bolts start vibrating out. If you don't catch it soon enough drive shaft will go swinging around. It causes a true violent shake that increases with speed. Death wobble does not.

If your TJ is shaking violently above 15MPH, you really need a serious inspection. Your situation sounds very dangerous.

I've read up on the death wobble and it doesn't sound like my problem. My jeep seems to only shake while in gear(the shaking appears to stop while shifting)
