Unhappy She just keeps dieing on me = (

I can't figure out why, but my jeep just randomly dies while driving. She starts up fine then she'll just die. The engine doesn't die violently or anything, its as if it just being put into neutral. Also the Check Engine light come on every time, but if you start it up again it stays off.

At first i thought it was the Air Filter Box since i just recently got a new K&N filter and popped that in, but i can't find anything wrong with it.

I have a 2.5L Manual. I also recently replace the Oil Filter, Spark Plugs and changed the oil. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does it idle at all? What if you give it gas after it happens...will it stay running as long you're feathering the gas?

If it doesn't idle and it stays running as long as you're feathering the gas...there's a couple things I can think of trying.

1.) Check your battery - a weak battery can cause a lot of weird issues with the idle
2.) Check your IAC (Idle Air Controller) - this is located on the throttle body and controls the idle...if it gets too dirty (they tend to get dirty due to carbon buildup), they won't idle properly.

Also... every vehicle I've ever driven doesn't just gently die when it's put in neutral, they typically stay running...lol

No, It doesn't idle at all, everything just dies and turns off. the electronics come back on a little after the engine dies, but that's all the happens.

I'll check those out. Thanks for the advise. = D

And it doesn't die when put in neutral. (i guess i worded that poorly) X ) So far it's died in every gear. = /

*I also have noticed that she heats up rather quickly and i think she dies when the engine hits about 175 degrees.

Does it do this all the time or what?

Can you describe the frequency in which this happens?

ie. does it do it all the time leaving it undriveable? does it only do it a few times and then runs normally? does it run normally, then start doing it, then run normally again, etc?

Still sounds to me like either one of the 2 things I've mentioned above
