Shift Knob Removal

2000 Jeep TJ Wrangler manual shift knob. I need to replace the boot. Anyone know the best way to remove the knob? It won't twist off and I don't see a really good way to pop the shift pattern out. Any good resources to get a new boot?

I kinda gouged mine up, but I was replacing it anyways to replace my boot. If I did it again, probably heat it up and gently pry around the top button till it pops out, Good luck with yours...

Nothing to it but to do it.

Just take a small flat blade screw driver and pry out the shift pattern on the top. Then just use a ratchet to take the nut off and twist/pull the knob off

↑ beat me to it
