Shifter Problem

I know this may be some where in the Forum, I just have not been able to find it. So here is my question,

After installing a 3" lift and then the 1" TC drop, I am now experiencing diffculties shifting into 2,4 and some into reverse. What can I do to fix the problem? all suggestions all welcome.

Thanks to all in advanced.

under the shift boot you will find a foam looking thing on the shifter itself. Removing that will likely cure your problem.

Is the foam looking thing you are referring to actually attached to the console or is it down around the bottom? Mine does the same thing as Phantom's.

A great big thank you to Big Sarge and Business Rogue for your help/input. Removed the foam from the stick and now I'm good with my shifter.

Pop the shift boot out of the console top, pull it up around the shift knob, and look at the shift lever itself. If you have one there will be what looks like a piece of foam pipe insulation around the shift lever stick. Slice one side with a utility knife, take it off and throw it away..Replace shift boot.

I had one guy at in the Houston Jeep People who told me to "bend the shifter" . That's when I decided to come somewhere where I could get some real and sound advise.

LOL...no bro, that's awesome advice. While you're at it, drain your steering fluid. Why? Because, that's why.

Ha! Okeedoke, I'll give it a try. I'm just OCD enough that without "visual data" I will somehow take a screw out that will lead to my jeep just crumbling apart before my eyes like a wet piece of paper. Ha! But I'm getting better. As soon as it stops raining here, I'll do it!

Sorry about not having a picture for you. I took the whole thing apart and forgot to take the picture. Sorry about that dove.
