shifting issue

i have a 97 5speed... sometimes when i shift into second gear, its really hard to get in, almost have to force it. also, sometimes ill shift into a gear and itll snag into place roughly and get into gear. its not quite grinding into it or anything...

i just had the tranny rebuilt, synchros changed ect.

will a fluid change help?

Assuming that the rebuild was done properly then it should have had new fluid already, when the rebuild was completed. You should check your shifter to make sure that everything is aligned properly and that all bolts (etc...) are torqued properly. Also make sure that all bolts that connect the trans and motor are torqued properly, that all dowels between the trans and motor are in place, and that your motor and trans mounts are in good shape.

to test if its fluid causing it... pump the clutch two or three times then depress it to shift. If pumping it first remediates the issue then its either your slave cylinder or your low on fluid.
