Simple blower motor problem not so simple

I have a 98 wrangler with no heat. I replaced the blower motor then the resistor pack. I tested both and both the original and replacement were good. I tested the control switch in the dash and it is good. I went and bought a haynes manual so I could work throught the wiring and find any relays or other connection points but the Haynes manual did not have my wiring diagram. Does anyone know where I can get a reliable wiring diagram for my 1998 wrangler. Or any thing else to check for. I found a relay next to the resistor pack that was the same as the starter relay in the fuse box. It also tested good. I am by no means a mechanic and anything big I usually take in for repair but this started as a simple blower motor replacement and has spun out of control. I don't want to purchase an expensive service manual since I will take it in if anything major needs fixed. If I had a wiring diagram I feel as though I could figure it out.

Thanks in advance
Mark

I am not against purchasing a wiring diagram. I just worry that the online locations I have seen will give me the same diagram the Haynes manual had. I have had good luck with cheap manuals before if anyone has purchased a chilton or other low end manual and have had good luck please let me know.

Well I used to have the login infor for EBSCO Host, and it was awesome. Factory diagrams...but the username and password no longer work.

I got it from this thread awhile back
Online Repair Manuals - The Ranger Station Forums

This looks moderately promising. 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ Electrical Wiring Diagram Schematic and Pinouts | Circuit and Wiring Diagram

Personally I'd goto a HVAC mechanic, and or an automotive electrical shop for the schematics. They have access to them....and sometimes will share.

You can chase wires without one, by using a test light/multimeter. but having one will be easier. I assume you've tested the fuse?

I tried going to a mechanic but they where not offering. I was a little pissed after I had just spent money on a new clutch there.

Would a 2002 be the same wiring as my 98? The drawings look right. I will print out a couple pages and look into it after work.

There was a post to get factory manuals. You just sent him a PM and he gave you a password to download the factory manuals. I did it so I downloaded them all. You never know when you will need a specific year.
Search for the post. It was not that long ago.

Also need help

I am also having trouble with the blower motor on my 2000 TJ. I have tested the motor itself by hot wiring it to the battery and it turned. I have two 2000 TJ's so I've been able to swap parts without buying anything yet.

I have tested the relay, resistor, motor, and both switches and all seem to be working fine on the "other" TJ.

The only thing I've noticed is that when turning the ignition switch, I cannot feel a "click" from the heater relay as you normally would. Which indicates to me that no power is coming into the relay.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nico
