skid plates

i want to get some skid plates for my wrangler. iv done a bit of googling and it seems theres alot of options when it comes to protecting the bottom of your jeep. im not looking to spend alot, if 100 bucks can get me some good protection that would be great.
so what should i protect first?
second? third?
where should i buy from online?
any name brands preferd... or is a skid plate a skid plate?

holy shit. i just looked under my jeep for the first time, to see what seems the most suseptible to damage and theres a HUGE skid plated covering everything. i dont know who makes it, or why the dealership didnt mention it to me. everything major seems to be coverd except the gas tank. is the gas tank high on the priority list to armor?

it comes factory with a skid that covers the transmission and the transfer case
after that the priority list goes,
oil pan/ engine
fuel tank
differentials
steering box

but if you have most of that covered then thats a great start!

that is the stock TC skidplate and the stock 4spd auto tranny skidplate.
do you have a lift? with +2" the front driveshaft rubs on that small skidplate.
i installed a warn oil pan skidplate intead of that, it also protects the engine oil pan:

bummer.

kinda sucks looking at these pics, the more i look into them the more the bottom of my jeep looks like a pile of crap. 06 jeep alrdy rusting everywhere, and whoever owned the car before was pretty good at making dents.

so whats the 4th picture of?

edit: yeah it has a 2 inch lift. i guess that explians the dent...

your last pic shows the engine oil pan that´s not protected with your stock skidplates.

i bought it online at 4wd.com.
rustysoffroad.com has a skid that looks like the warn. but it costs the same.

you wont loose any coverage and you will be able to put a lift in your TJ without front driveshaft rubbing.
here you can see how it rubs with only small 0-3" OME shocks:
