Soft Top Frame Broken

I'm a new Jeep owner. Only 2 months. I have a 1997 Wrangler TJ. When my husband and I were putting soft top back up the other day the bar, at passenger side front corner, broke apart. It was rusted through pretty bad. Also, the piece of soft top that was screwed onto this bar tore away from rest of top and is barely holding together.

My questions are? Any way to fix these problems without buying entire frame and soft top? If not, I'm think of going to the Rampage top. Mainly because it's cheaper and easier to deal with, so I've read.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the new Jeep. I'd probably start looking at Craigslist ads for your area & other areas within driving distance. Once in a while you'll find an entire factory soft top for sale pretty cheap which would be a good way to go. In the mean time, I'd take the top off & enjoy it for the rest of the summer until you can find a replacement.

im a newby on this forum. Im having trouble figuring out how to put a bikini top on my 97 tj. I was wondering if you can use a softop off an older jeep like a cj5 or cj7 by installing the track on the windshield or do you have to buy a bikini top and windshield track for a tj?

I just purchased the Bestop Safari Top & the Drill in Header & Also have the Bestop Bikini Top that fits in the same header The Safari covers the rear seat area & Bikini only covers the driver/passenger compartment.
