soft top frustration

Greetings All,

I have had a jeep in the past, but recently upgraded to the '05 unlimited. I am new to the group and i hope I'm in the right forum, but i was wondering if there were any tricks on getting a soft top on and off more easily? It seems to take me more time then it should as i take off the side panels, take off the back window, etc when taking the top off and on. Is there any tricks of the trade that you guys have found?

thanks

Welcome to WF! After almost tearing up my top, I learned to start from the back... Take all the windows off, disconnect the rear flys, and flip them onto the top, disco the front clamps, untuck the top from the door surrounds, fold the top back (I usually stand at the rear and just pull and tuck). Takes just a few minutes...I have a TJ...Ask Unlimited to be sure!

I leave my rear window partially attached. I don't totally unzip it. Roll it up a little, side windows off, etc. Still quicker than pulling my hardtop off in the middle of the moutains.

Welcome to WF!
