This is a newbie question but bear with me. I recently changed my TJ's hard top to the stock soft top however I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to put in the rear window. I zipped it all up but the trouble I'm having is with the bottom rail part. I've racked my brain trying to figure out how it goes but haven't been able to figure it out! I could use any help you guys can give me, and a pic of how its supposed to look would help too. Thanks!

thats what i got.....black denim....it proved much easier with two people than just lil ol me while installing it...and the directions were dead nuts accurate and well explained,,,except for one step. but it was a breeze. and them tinted windows are nice too.

I just got another soft top and new windows a few weeks ago, and I must admit, I struggled with the rear window. I've got a friend who deals in Wranglers (over 50 in stock) and went to his shop and he showed me. He first got WD40 and sprayed on the first 6 inches of the zipper on the drivers rear side. You should have to zipper clasps that need to be on the left side at first. Once you get the zipper installed in both clasps, zip the upper zipper clasp all away around the window so you have one on the bottom of the left and right side. Then all you have to do is unzip both sides straight up, and then roll the window up and use the straps included to snap it. Once he did it, I felt pretty stupid, but, who cares, it's done now. Good luck.

Ahhh, I think the problem is that I'm missing those side clips where the center bar is supposed to just clip into. They're not attatched to the window nor the actual tailgate (or the sides for that matter). I'm guessing the previous owner might have lost that part of the hardware and thats why I don't have it. I'll have to look around and see if they were just misplaced or fell off or something but I'm getting the feeling I don't have them at all.

A little off topic but I dont have a bar neither and just ordered a RAT will i need to order one for my top to fit?

Yes you need the bar and brackets to secure the rear window. If you orderded the RAT, that means you have a softtop already, correct? If so, how is your rear window secured now?

I just lower the bar that tightens the soft top and unbutton it from the back. Then i just undo it from the front. I don't unzip or re zip anything until i have it off the car, it is much easier this way and takes about a minute to take off and 5 to put back on solo.

I just use the brackets on either side of the tailgate to slide the belt in. The top i had was old as dirt and looked like it is missing that bar.
