soft top repair

ok, so the passenger side of my soft top, the stitching has come loose and it is making more noise than normal.

thing some strong epoxy would hold it together?
its the length of the door frame so far, I hope it doesn't go further.

I would remove the top & take it to a boat canvas repair shop to have it stiched up/reinforced in that area. Any shop like that could take care of it in just a few minutes & it would be stronger than how it left the factory after they got through with it.

Go to the hobby store, get a leather stitching awl, and you can stitch it up yourself. I did both sides of mine where the front clips go into the door surrounds. It takes a few minutes but it's the best $17.00 I've spent on the Jeep so far...

The rest of the stitching will soon fail. Like Jerry said, take it to a top shop and have the whole thing re-stitched. I had it done on my old 87 and paid the guy 75 bucks, although that was about 1991, it still should be reasonable.

check upholstery shops. If they can stitch leather, they can stitch your top. Also try shoe repair they have machines that can handle that weight and thickness.

Mine is tearing (not on the stitching, just tearing) at the front on both sides maybe an inch or two from the windshield. Both tears are maybe 2 inches long coming up from the doors. Could I fix it with this?
