Some SYE / CV driveshaft & TC skidplate questions

hi,

i want to order a 2.5" OME HD suspension and a SYE and CV driveshaft in some days.

do i need any more things to install that? some other CAs?
my 2" spacer lift works fine with the stock CAs.

shipping to germany is very expensive. that´s why i don´t want to measure the driveshaft after installing the SYE.

can you tell me how long the driveshaft must be with the OME lift on my 4.0L TJ with 4-speed auto tranny and rear D44 axle?

in the next step i want to install a belly-up skidplate like in this thread: click me
the guy in this thread installed the plate only with a 1" BL.
I have a 2" BL. do you think that i can install only a flat metal plate instead of the belly-up skid plate?

Nth Degree sold a flat pan but (from the company) they had a number of people with driveline vibes when doing a 4" lift. They quit selling it because it seems to be too much t-case lift. However, with your 2.5" lift it may work out for you.

thanks for your answer.

i don´t want some driveline vibes.
so the 2.5-2.75" belly-up skid plate must be enough for me i think.

can you tell me something about the driveshaft length?
when i tell the people in a jeep parts shop that i have a '06 TJ with i6 and 4-spd auto tranny with a rear D44, will they be able to sell me the driveshaft in the length that i need for the OME lift and some 2-3" lift (belly-up)in the future?
i don´t want to pay the shipping twice (for the SYE and then after measuring the driveline the CV driveshaft).

The closest that you might be able to get would be to talk to someone like Tom Woods shop. They have made a shaft for every drivetrain/lift combination.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Unfortunately with him being over sea's he's got a few more challenges that we would with getting somelike like a CV made up. Hell I can measure and have a shaft built in like 4 hours here in town.

So MM, you all storin up the spare parts for the mad rush that's about to befall your quiet little town.

You have no idea! What's on our plate right now for the magazine is so big that I would rather personally greet every person that rolled into town than what the magazine staff are about to do.

During Easter Jeep Safari the crew is performing the Winches In Hell winch test. We are taking one winch from every major manufacturer and running Hells Revenge by winch.

A winch test of this magnitude has never been done before. For that reason all the tops of each company are coming in to watch us put their winches through HELL. And some other magazines are coming out to cover our testing. We apparently have become the talk of EJS amongst the recovery and media industries.

Wanna trade places? Lots of sun, wheeling Moab (albeit on a winch rope), and you get to play with tools. Interested?

I'm gonna go ahead and say HELL NO to that one. I know Joe is taking the JK down there with RockKrawler and their schedule is STUPID busy with media events. I think he's only going to get to wheel it one possibly two days and those are media runs too.

I'll hit up EJS at least once in my lifetime. Just don't know when I'm going to gain the patience to actually do it.

It's funny, the last time I wheeled an EJS was about five years ago. Now I take Barney down there, let other people drive it, and leave there with my right arm shaking up and down for weeks to come. LOL! In total I will honestly not rack up more than eight hours of sleep that entire week between media events, manufacturer invites, drinking in the bars all night with sponsors (where business actually happens), and meeting readers that come in from all over the country.

I can say it is one hell (there's that word again) of a ride working EJS but it is all worth it when you look back on the week.
