Very first thing ... check your connections to your battery terminal. Remove them and clean them with a wire brush really good. Put them back on and tighten them enough so you can't move them with your hands anymore. See if that helps.
Next thing (after the fist step) ... try few times until it cranks without messing around with clutch (clutch pushed in of course). If it cranks, then your starter is going out. If it doesn't, then it is your clutch switch.
Also, any other weird things happening with the cluster, lights etc? As that is a sign of ignition switch going bad.
E brake switch/moving the shifter has nothing to do with cranking.
