Sometimes won't crank

Sometimes I try to start my Jeep and it won't crank. I think it may have to do with the clutch switch that tells it you have the clutch pushed in because eventually it will start after me pushing in the clutch resetting the E brake and moving the gear shifter. Next time it won't start I will try just pushing in the clutch a few times to see if it will start but the couple of times it did this to me I just started fooling with the E brake and shifter too.

Very first thing ... check your connections to your battery terminal. Remove them and clean them with a wire brush really good. Put them back on and tighten them enough so you can't move them with your hands anymore. See if that helps.

Next thing (after the fist step) ... try few times until it cranks without messing around with clutch (clutch pushed in of course). If it cranks, then your starter is going out. If it doesn't, then it is your clutch switch.

Also, any other weird things happening with the cluster, lights etc? As that is a sign of ignition switch going bad.

E brake switch/moving the shifter has nothing to do with cranking.

will the engine turn over and just not fire??? If so you could have a anti-drainback valve issue like i have. I have to prime my jeep by inserting the key and turn the switch til my radio and dash lights appear, count to 5 then turn the key to fire.
You can lock it..even put a different t/c in it..but its still not a RUBICON!
