i'm a newbie jeep owner, i just bought a 2003 X model. It came with 31" tires and stock suspension. I want to put a 1.25" to 1.5" spacer lift on it. Will my stock shocks work with this? Do I need bump stops? need to worry about the Wobble of Death/steering stabilizer leaks issues/ transfer box needing to be lowered? Thanks for any help.

welcome. death wobblecan happen on any jeep, though lifted jeeps see it more. Lots of work to add spacers.. have you considered a 1.2" body lift? If not, and you add spacer then your sock shocks are fine for now, no issues for t-case either. ?You will want to get an alignment however.

If you are planning to run 31" tires for a while, I'd recommend picking up a basic 2" budget boost/spacer lift . . . the kits are pretty inexpensive and will come with everything you need . . . 2" spacers for above the springs, new shocks, bumpstops, etc. If you want to down the line you can add a 1" or 1.25" body lift (do NOT put more than a 1.25" Body Lift on your TJ) and run 33" tires. If your springs seem saggy now, you might look into either finding someone with a 05/06 Rubi and buy their stock springs or you can buy a kit for a bit more coin that comes with new and longer springs instead of putting a spacer above your stock ones. You shouldn't have to worry about anything with this set up, but you will need an alignment anytime to adjust your ride height.
