Based of the small size speakers the TJ uses. You really aren't going to get much bass at all. I've got Polk audios, sound good. But once again. Honestly, not much base. I scored a 10" sub box at a swap meet for $30, a kicker sub for $40 and grabbed a cheap amp from Walmart.

This is correct, without a sub you will not get even adequate bass. I just upgraded my entire sound system. I went with the Polk 6.5 in the soundbar and 5.25 in the dash powered by a 4 channel Alpine amp, also upgraded the center console sub with the Kicker 6.75 inch comp sub powered by a JL Audio monoblock amp rated at 200 watts RMS @ 4 ohms. Even with that the bass was seriously lacking. And that is coming from an old dude that isn't looking to have bass that can be heard outside the vehicle. I finally added an 8 inch sub in a ported enclosure behind the rear seat. All of that combined has now produced a great sound with just the right amount of bass. It's not going to rattle any windows but it sounds very very good. Almost as good as the high end system I installed in my last Corvette. Not as loud but every bit as clear and full.
I'm getting pioneer 3-way in my 4x6. And pioneer in my 5.25. Anybody have this?
