Here you go... and it's only about a 5-minute job, all you need is a 1/2" wrench.

Changing Your Jeep Speedometer Gear

One caution: When you are done installing the new gear, the speedometer housing MUST be rotated into the correct position so the new speedometer gear will properly mesh with the steel pinion gear inside the transfer case. If you don't rotate it to the proper position, the speedometer won't work. So pay particular care to that part of the job.

Do you have a standard SYE kit installed? If so, that's how it is. Or did you let someone install the super-short SYE kit which doesn't even have a speedometer gear?

They told me they had to put the super short shaft in to get rid of my vibes, the also put spacers under my motor mounts, crushed my intake and used a sawzall on my fan shroud.

They were and are idiots for telling you that and installing the super-short SYE kit. It is for reasons like that I hate 4WP, few of their "techs" know WTF they are doing.

Well, you can no longer simply swap in a speedometer gear to calibrate your speedometer since a super-short SYE does not use a speedometer gear. That is why your speedometer is now way off. The only way to calibrate your speedometer now is by wiring in an external speedometer calibrator like from Truespeed or the Dakota Digital at Universal Speedometer Signal Interface
